Policeauctions.com Review – Is Policeauctions.com Legit or a Scam?

Policeauctions.com sounds like an official website that holds auctions on behalf of police departments. It is a great name and it does drive a lot of traffic because people are led to think that this is an actual police auction site.

While they do offer auction items from municipal government offices this site is not affiliated with any government entity and offers auction items from various sources.

Inventory at Policeauction.com

There are quite a few categories listed on the side bar but almost all the categories contained  jewelry, watches and other accessories. I clicked on the clothing and accessories and was brought to page after page of jewelry and did not spot one piece of clothing. There were some art pieces listed as well but this is likely the site where you can score some decent jewelry more than anything else.

Given the name of the site I did expect to find a different variety of inventory and was a bit disappointed with some of the jewelry that was for sale. I did not really find anything that caught my eye.

I would expect a site that uses the policeauctions to have things like electronics (computers and other office equipment) and maybe some unique finds but there really nothing to write home to mom about.

I checked around to see if I was alone in my feelings about the site and this is what I found:

“The "ruby" I bought turned out to be a red fish bowl stone. The value of their items are worth

less than the shipping. These items start at a dollar because that's the very most they are worth.”

“My experience with policeauctions.com is they usually ship fast after auction end and payment received. They seem to answer the phone promptly enough during business hours, however, the quality of the merchandise I received I would rate the value below the shipping cost. The main question I have is why are they not required to display negative testimonials?”

The rest of the testimonials I found everywhere else but on their site was negative! I tried to find some redeeming qualities but there just does not seem a way to find anything good to say.

Policeauctions.com Reviews - Overall

Many people seem to think that this site is a disappointment, when I clicked on categories for the auction I had to go back and click again because I thought I might have chosen the wrong category by accident based on the type of items that showed up!

Usually there will be a hand full of complaints listed on various websites about a business but this business was the topic of a lot of conversations that were very negative although some were positive.

Overall, the Policeauctions.com review shows this to be a legit site and not a scam, however most people prefer using a service like Auctionresource.org for finding good deals online.
