Yardsellr.com Review – Is Yardsellr.com a Scam?

The Yardsellr.com review shows that this is a social sales site and there are a host of products that are being sold. The main tenet of the site is to sell things as you would at a yard sale except instead of selling it to your local community you are selling to your virtual community. Just like with any yard sale, there are deals to be had, you just have to put in the time to look. However, a more popular choice is using a service like AuctionResource.org

The Site

Subscription Price: Free

Number of Items:  Hundreds

Geographical locations: nationwide

Yardsellr.com is a good idea but it requires that you link your Facebook account if you do not have a Facebook account than you will need to create one.  There are no fees for selling on Yardsellr.com but there is a small buyers fee that is attached to the final cost of an item that you have purchased.

The Yardsellr.com review shows that you are not required to have a PayPal account but you are encouraged to have a Twitter account, although it is not necessary. One of the key features that I appreciate is the fact that Yardsellr.com acts as the middle man and collects and distributes payments.

Overall this seems like it may be a good idea but there are some negatives as well.

Room For Improvement

Every site always shows some room for improvement. Yardsellr.com is no different. There are a few things that can be tweaked to make the web site better. For example the FAQ page is not as comprehensive as it should be it does mention that there is a buyers fee associated with purchasing items through Yardsellr.com but it does not give the specifics.

I do not like that I can not find  the cost of purchasing something before I purchase it, granted you know what the item costs but because the percentage that the buyer is expected to pay is not listed there is no real way to know the total cost.

The contact information offered only contains a physical address and a generic email account, I like to have phone numbers just in case. You never know what may happen and I think having a point of contact is important to be able to complain if necessary.

The lay out seems easy enough to use although I was a bit confused by the “photon” bucks which were offered and which I am still not sure about.

Other Information

Although Yardsellr.com is free to sell on there is something called “boost” which is more or less advertising and marketing costs they range from $2-$10 per item. I hate when I have to peel and peel to find out information about a site. I found the “boost” info listed under the help section which is where evidently they hide all the good questions.

If you have a few things you want to get rid of this is probably a good idea. If you are a buyer it does not cost you anything to look so why not give it a go. Either way the site seems relatively safe and it is easy to use.

Overall, the Yardsellr.com reviews show that this is a legit site and is not a scam, however most people prefer using a service like AuctionResource for finding deals online.
